The artist
Anuja Saxena
Anuja Saxena is a contemporary Indian artist whose practice moves between painting, printmaking and material experiment. She trained in fine art and has been painting professionally for over a decade, exhibiting in group shows and selling to collectors across India and abroad.
Her work begins with observation and ends somewhere less literal. A landscape becomes a field of layered colour; a textile fragment becomes the structure of a composition. She works slowly, often returning to a canvas over several weeks.
Artistic journey
Drawing came first, long before it had a name or a purpose. Formal training gave it structure, and the years since have given it a voice. What began as careful representation has loosened into something more instinctive, where colour carries the meaning and the subject is only the doorway.
